Skinny&Curvy

It should be Skinny AND Curvy, not Skinny vs. Curvy.

the first step towards confidence is not being afraid to be ugly

once you get over the fear of being unattractive and stop equating beauty with other good things in life (friends, love, happiness) it’s a lot easier to love yourself unconditionally

your job is not to sit around and be pretty and easy on everyone else’s eyes

your job is to do whatever the fuck you want and look however the fuck you want while doing it

Rue 107 has always been curve friendly and now they have extended their sizes to include plus sizes. They have really cute plus size swimsuits and some of their most popular styles now in bigger sizes. Here are some of my favorites.

My Views On Celebrity Diets

First off, let me say that there is nothing wrong with working out, because I try to do it at least 5 times a week. But, in my opinion, there is something wrong with “normal” people doing “celebrity” diets.

No matter how much we deny it, celebrities are there for us to look at, to ogle, to admire. And the main focus of the admiration? Their looks, more specifically, their weight. Now, I am the first one to condemn this, and support average sized women and girls in media. but honestly, right now it is not where Hollywood is at. So, I have taken the liberty to grace you (or annoy you) with my opinion.

Women and men in Hollywood are pressured to look thin/sexy or to loose weight for a role they want/have. That is where the celebrity diet and normal people diets stand at a crossroads. Celebrities may need to lose weight for a role in a short amount of time, which can be unhealthy and frankly scary. Average joe’s on the other hand, can take their time loosing weight, which is the recommended way (in my opinion). If someone was to follow a celebrity diet and lose ‘x’ amount of weight in ‘x’ amount of days they are not learning about the tools they need to lead a healthier lifestyle. If you want to get in shape, hey that’s wonderful and fantastic and awesome of you, but please do it safely.

The Hollywood starlets we admire have personal trainers, cooks, dieticians, nutritionists, and a copious amount of time to work out; we do not. Which means that we have to struggle with staying healthy and living under the watchful eye of society all by ourselves. And that is where things turn down the wrong path sometimes (the path of eating disorders and otherwise). I cannot stress enough how important this is to me: if you want to get healthy, get healthy! But, talk to your doctor, do not read a fad diet book that will help you lose 20 pounds in 20 days just so you can gain it back. You need the right tools, the right support, and the right reasons.

I exercise and eat healthy not to get skinny but to be healthy so I can live a long life. Why do you get healthy?
